These are brilliant shoes – not just for winter swimming, but I also tested them last week on a sandy and partly rocky Mediterranean beach for wading and swimming.

The best snowshoes I’ve ever tried!
I’d been struggling with three different pairs of winter swimming shoes/socks until I found these. The last ones were men’s sizes, as my flat feet don’t fit into standard shoes. In the changing room, the battle with both dry and wet neoprene socks was a weekly problem. These winter swimming shoes actually fit properly and are quick to put on and take off, even with numb fingers. I love them! Size 42 is my usual size, and they fit nicely and comfortably. I realised that, if necessary, I could have fitted into a size 41, so there’s no need to buy a size larger than my own, as can sometimes be the case. The only thing I think could be improved is the colour range. In fairly low light, for example, orange or yellow slippers would be nice. Slippers: 9.99/10. Colour range: 1/10
I was pleasantly surprised! The first time I used them, the ice had already started to break up, and they were great for kicking half-square-metre chunks of ice out of the way so I could get a dip. The boots protected my feet well, so the cold water (2–3 degrees?) didn’t feel unpleasant Water drains out through the perforations in the boots as intended, so they stay nice and warm and maintain good grip on surfaces such as swimming jetties and wet quays. After rinsing, the shoes drain well and are easy to carry. They also dry quickly when air can circulate through them.

I've tried loads of different winter swimming boots, but these are by far the best. They're easy to put on and have a non-slip sole. The best thing is that they drain the water out all by themselves. Well worth buying!
The soles provide good grip. When swimming, the soles of my feet feel cold, so I cut some extra insoles out of my neoprene socks!

I bought these winter walking boots specifically because of their non-slip soles. I go to the ice hole on my local beach. When walking on snow and ice, winter walking slippers on their own are too slippery. The sizing was spot on and the boots fit perfectly. No water gets trapped inside them. The sensation of wearing wet boots causes my toes to get colder whilst walking than they do in winter slippers. This is probably due to the greater empty space inside the shoe, as there’s no water in them. This is the only downside, but there are still far more positives. I’m pleased with my purchase and I wear the shoes at least five times a week.
They fit really well; I chose the size using the size guide and it was spot on. I’ve even tested them on an ice swimming trip, and they worked a treat. I hope they’ll be durable, as the rather high price is the downside of these ice swimming boots.
Perhaps a tad too big. A size smaller might have suited me better. But they fit well, didn’t slip, and it was a strange sensation when I stepped into the hole in the ice and the water ‘splashed’ into my boots. The rungs are completely frozen, so they don’t slip at all. They dry quickly. All in all, they’re comfortable. A good purchase. I’d recommend them. But do check the size.
