Accessibility Statement for Vaistoa.com
This accessibility statement applies to the digital service available at https://vaistoa.com. The statement was prepared on June 27, 2025.
Vaistoa is committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We strive to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level A and AA.
Accessibility status of the digital service
The website largely meets the accessibility requirements required by law (WCAG 2.1, level A and AA). However, some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible.
This assessment is based on a comprehensive technical and functional accessibility audit conducted in June 2025.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below may not be fully accessible:
Some image alternative texts are generic or repetitive
Some product or homepage images use repetitive alt text which does not uniquely describe the image’s content.
Social media and decorative icons are not consistently hidden from screen readers
In several cases, an icon and its corresponding label are both read out.
Multiple <h1> headings are sometimes used per page
This can confuse screen reader users and does not reflect a clear content structure.
Some interactive elements (like the search icon) lack clear accessible labels
These icons should include aria-label
attributes to clarify their function.
Dynamic elements such as menus and product FAQs need improved ARIA attributes and focus handling
For example, hamburger menus and expandable accordions lack proper aria-expanded
states and focus management.
Focus indicator visibility may not be sufficient in all cases
Some links or buttons do not visibly indicate when they are focused via keyboard.
The search field lacks an explicitly associated visible label
It relies on a visual icon without clear programmatic labeling.
Status messages (e.g. “item added to cart”) are not announced to screen readers
Feedback is shown visually but not conveyed programmatically (e.g. with ARIA live regions).
Content not covered by the directive
Third-party services and embedded components such as social media embeds may not be fully accessible, and we do not have control over their source code.
How we are improving accessibility
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of Vaistoa.com. The current issues are being tracked and prioritized, and we aim to improve image alternative texts and heading hierarchy, ensure all interactive elements have meaningful labels, and add focus indicators and aria-live
regions where needed.
