The water-repellent treatment of the shoes can be maintained with a protective spray.
Clean off loose dirt after each use with a damp cloth or sponge.
If feet sweat inside the shoes, it’s important to let them air out properly after use. Remove the insole if it’s detachable, open the shoe wide, and allow it to dry completely before the next wear.
If the shoes get wet on the inside, remove the insole and open the shoe wide to let air circulate as much as possible.
It’s also good to give the shoes “rest days” so they can dry and air out thoroughly.
Store the shoes upright, at room temperature, and away from direct UV light.
The softer winter sole provides improved grip on ice and snow but may wear slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces.

Otherwise a good shoe, but it was too tight for our son’s very wide foot when worn with woollen socks, so he could only wear them when it was slightly below freezing; otherwise, his cold feet would get chilled. When the shoe got wet and then dried out, it became crunchy.
We’ve now been testing these shoes with our 1.5-year-old toddler. The shoes keep feet warm and are clearly comfortable to wear. The toes have felt warm, and so far these shoes have also kept out the water.A nice touch is the reflectors on the back. However, a major drawback is how difficult they are to put on, even though the upper and the sole are really wide;the seam at the ankle is so tight that it’s really difficult to get your foot into the shoe with a woolly sock on. The woolly sock does fit fine once you’ve managed to squeeze it in, but that takes a real struggle. Without woollen socks, the shoes are considerably easier to put on, but in severe frosts, woollen socks are a must. You can’t put the shoes on easily whilst sitting down; the child always has to be standing up (which is a bit tricky for younger children). Because of how difficult they are to put on, we’ve had to buy our child a second pair of winter shoes that are quicker to slip on at nursery when worn with woollen socks. Ours are size 25 and black.
My child can run in these shoes, but I’m not happy with their grip on slippery surfaces. They’ve only been worn outside twice so far, and there’s very little snow, but even a small amount of compacted snow that had frozen overnight was enough to make them slip.
They keep your feet warm and look great. The only downside is that the sole is really slippery and offers no grip at all in slippery or icy conditions.
My child thinks they’re comfortable to wear, easy to put on, and there’s still plenty of room even with woolly socks on. The only downside is the slippery sole; otherwise, they’re really good shoes 😊
The leg is quite wide and also rather flat. It’s a bit tricky to put on, especially if the overalls are already attached to the trousers, as is customary in childcare. There was also a little accident involving a wee, and even when washed gently, something happened to the shoe’s upper, so the surface is now rough and creased. The sole is good and my child likes barefoot shoes, but these won’t become a favourite.
My 8-year-old daughter loves these! They kept her feet warm even in temperatures of -20, when worn with woollen socks. Apparently, they feel lovely after wearing normal shoes – a bit like the shoes are massaging the soles of her feet.
The upper of the boot is thin and stiff, and the seam at the heel is quite noticeable on the inside. They’re uncomfortable compared to previous winter boots. My child refuses to wear them.
Our toddler played outside in these for about an hour, and it was -8. He was wearing merino wool socks underneath, but he started crying in the middle of playing and pointed to his toes. We went straight home and sure enough, his toes were absolutely ice-cold and red. So these shoes only got a couple of wears, as they can’t be worn in freezing weather, and when it’s above zero we prefer to use lighter autumn shoes. It’s a real shame, as they were quite an expensive investment after all.
After a few weeks’ use, the upper material of the shoes has started to peel away from the rest of the shoe. This is apparently due to getting wet, even though they’ve never been completely soaked through. So they’re definitely not suitable for slushy weather, despite what’s promised. The child still likes wearing them, though.
Our 10-year-old has really liked these shoes and has enjoyed wearing them. The downside is that they don’t cope well with damp conditions. In slushy weather, water seeps through at the toes very quickly.
I haven’t tested the product yet, but the delivery was incredibly fast. Even during the Christmas rush, the shoes were ready for collection the very next day!
I’m really disappointed with these shoes. After a week’s use, the lining bunches up around the upper – particularly at the back – and they don’t keep my feet or socks dry; they’re always wet inside.
The shoes are good quality and feel warm; they’re nimble to wear, and my child dashes off running as soon as they’ve put them on! In future, I’ll probably mainly be buying shoes for the children from Vaistoa.

Lovely shoes for a 1½-year-old! She was absolutely thrilled right from the start. It feels so good when there’s plenty of room for a child’s feet. Our little girl doesn’t exactly have slender legs or calves, so finding the right shoes is a challenge in itself, but these have been just the right fit! 👌🏼😍
My 3-year-old loves pottering about in these, putting his shoes on all by himself when heading out, and even enjoying a nice little stroll indoors just for the fun of it! We haven’t yet tested them in slushy conditions to see if the toes get wet, but in mild frost at least they’re far more comfortable than a certain other brand’s (not PJ) winter boots, hands down!
