It provides exceptional stability and ground feel even on icy surfaces. The all-new design combines the natural sensitivity of a thin and flexible sole with improved traction thanks to integrated grip zones.
All adult winter models now feature the new Vaistoa Pitoa™ Winter Sole, where high-friction grip zones are molded into Vaistoa’s thin and flexible base to enhance traction. These zones are made from a softer, high-friction rubber compound to ensure optimal grip. Strategically placed under the forefoot and heel, they allow for a natural stride in all winter conditions.
The high-friction grip zones are seamlessly molded into the sole, making the structure durable and long-lasting. The soft traction material provides better grip on ice and snow but wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow and ice naturally slow down abrasion, helping the traction remain consistent for longer.

You can maintain the shoe’s water-repellent treatment by using a protective spray.
Clean off any loose dirt after use with a damp cloth or sponge.
If your feet sweat inside the shoes, it’s important to let them air out properly after wearing. Remove the insole if it’s detachable, open the shoe fully, and allow it to dry naturally before the next use.
If the shoes get wet on the inside, remove the insole and open the shoe wide to maximize airflow inside.
It’s also good to give your shoes “rest days,” allowing them to dry and air out completely.
Store your shoes upright, at room temperature, and away from direct UV light.
The soft, high-friction rubber material provides excellent grip on ice and snow but wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow and ice naturally slow down wear, helping maintain consistent traction over time.

There are very few barriers to using barefoot shoes.
However, such barriers include functional or structural disorders of the feet or lower limbs. For example, hallux rigidus, or stiff big toe, where the big toe joint does not bend easily or at all upwards during the push-off phase of the step – which is a requirement for the natural roll of the step.
Similarly, any surgical operations where joints are fused – that is, their movement is restricted or completely prevented – pose challenges for the smooth use of barefoot shoes and the benefits they provide.
Loss of sensation in the soles of the feet (neuropathy) due to diabetes or nerve damage can also be considered a contraindication for using barefoot shoes, as you may injure your feet without noticing through the thin sole of the shoe.
If you have painful osteoarthritis or an active inflammatory phase of rheumatoid arthritis, it is advisable to reconsider using barefoot shoes until the condition improves.
If necessary, consult a physiotherapist or podiatrist who is knowledgeable about this matter. Remember to tell them that you want to transition to using barefoot shoes and ask how they can assist you in this project.

Good soles and lovely shoes. For some reason, I didn’t switch to these instead of my Altro shoes this winter. I’ll give them another go next year.
Lovely barefoot winter boots – they’re warm and offer good grip even in slightly slippery conditions. I particularly like these because, as I’m disabled from the ankles down, I can fit supportive insoles into them and manage to go for longer walks with my dog 😊 It’s as if I’m not wearing any shoes at all when I walk in these 👏
They slipped straight out of the packet and onto my feet. My step is light, my feet are warm and, amazingly, even when I wear them indoors for a long time, my feet don’t get sweaty.
They are very comfortable to wear and look absolutely beautiful! But they are cold. Is it under -1° I can't feel my toes, that is with thik knitted wool socks on the inside. Winters here are usually -5° to -15° so I barely get to use them :(
A good pair of high-top winter boots. I bought them a size bigger so I could fit woolly socks inside and they wouldn’t be too tight. The extra room keeps my feet warm. When standing still, the thin sole feels cold, but they keep my feet surprisingly warm even in severe frost.
These are light and warm shoes, perfect for the colder winter weather! I got them for temperatures as low as -20, so I can stay warm whilst watching my child play outside. They’re significantly warmer than my old hiking boots 😅 They’re not quite ice-fishing boots for the ice, but they work perfectly well for everyday use.
It’s really cold; my toes get frostbitten in no time at all when I’m outside. I’ve tried wearing socks with and without woollen socks, warm fleece socks and all sorts of things, but it’s always the same result and happens in roughly the same amount of time. I’d imagined these would be warm and brilliant for things like clearing snow and going out, as I live in the countryside, but no. They’re certainly comfortable to wear, stylish and have a suitably high shaft, but they really aren’t up to the job in freezing weather. Such a shame.
I’ve been really happy with these shoes! They’re comfortable to put on, as you can loosen the laces, which means there’s plenty of room even for woollen socks. They’ve kept my feet warm and dry, and they’re lovely to walk in. They’ve got plenty of room for my feet and feel really comfortable! Stylish and a lovely green colour! They’ve provided good grip even in slippery conditions. I can’t recommend these highly enough! I’m normally a size 41, but I went for a 42 with these, and they’ve been just right.
Lätt och varm, sköna skaft. Vinter sulorna ger bra grepp utom på direkt glansis. Som alla Vaistoa väldigt sköna att gå i med sin breda tåbox och sulorna som låter mig känna vad jag går på.
I was very impressed. How quickly my boots arrived here in the UK. I can honestly say they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. A real delight my feet feels silky and smooth when I draw them out of the boots it is almost hard to forget that I am actually barefooted. A lovely style and my only one regret is that they are not made in Finland.

Hi everyone, and greetings from Tornio!
Things went badly on 29 November whilst wearing my lovely Vaistoa Hanki pair of olive-green wellies. I slipped on icy pavements, broke my ankle and, after having my ankle reset in the ambulance, they had to cut my left boot open :( (photo).
I’d only managed to wear these boots exactly three times. I’m really gutted, and my foot will be in a plaster cast until mid-January.
However, I wholeheartedly recommend these boots and will try to buy a new pair just like them as soon as I’ve saved up enough money.

With woolly socks on, the shoes feel comfortable and they fit even around thicker calves. Two hours in the woods, first snow of the season, wet and freezing – these shoes are better suited to such conditions, but they handled slippery slopes and rocky ground better than my green hiking shoes, which have no tread.I walked through the woods amongst wet blueberry bushes, which is why the uppers got wet and the laces at the front weren’t tight. So they’re not really shoes for wet weather if you have to wade through slush, for example. The soles stayed dry. They’ll certainly perform well in freezing winter conditions.
Love these shoes!!! They are soft, warm and feel almost weightless. Easy to put on, easy to wear, and as a bonus the footprint is beautiful. I've been dreaming about shoes like these!
They’re wonderfully light and really cosy to wear. I went for a size larger than recommended, so I can fit woolly socks in them and there’s still plenty of room to spare.
The first slushy conditions of winter, and my feet stayed dry the whole time I was out and about. Lightweight and comfortable to wear. I love the colour! Highly recommended! ✨
Jag har alltid varit barfota så mycket som möjligt men jag bor där det är vinter minst halva året. Riktigt kalla dagar har jag gått i bara ullsockor i flera lager. Nu har jag hos er hittat det jag sökt! Helt underbara! Jag kan springa på tå i skogen som jag gör barfota på sommaren. Dock känner jag att de nog inte kommer att hålla emot kylan så bra. Men är ändå så nöjd!
