Foot length = the measured length of your own foot; the toe allowance is already included, so you don't need to add anything. Shoe interior = the length and width inside the shoe. The recommended size leaves about 1.0 cm of room in front of your longest toe.

Barefoot snow boots for the Nordic winter

Winter brings those mornings when the snow is halfway up your shins. That's when Vaistoa Hanki 3 barefoot boots slip on like a warm hug for your feet. The high, soft shaft protects against snow, and the laces let you adjust the fit.

3M Thinsulate™ insulation and a soft faux fur lining bring warmth without a heavy feel, and the insole's foil layer insulates against the cold from the ground. The water-repellent surface and high splash guard protect against snow and slush. The foot-shaped toe box lets your toes move freely, and the thin, flexible sole moves with every step.

New this winter. The grip pads of the Vaistoa Pitoa™ winter sole have been developed further, with the aim of even better grip, and the sole is still just as thin and flexible. Every pair also comes with an extra mid-insole: place it under the winter insole when you want more warmth, for example when you spend a lot of time standing still outdoors.

Vaistoa Pitoa™ Winter Sole

Created for the Nordic winter.

The Vaistoa Pitoa™ winter sole is designed to enable a free and natural step throughout the northern winter. It combines the feel of a thin, flexible sole with grip pads.

Renewed grip pads for this winter. The grip pad structure has been developed further, with the aim of even better grip. The sole is still just as thin and flexible, so your step feels naturally comfortable in winter too.

The grip pads are made from a softer, high-friction rubber compound and are molded into the sole under the forefoot and heel.

The soft grip material wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow naturally slows down wear.

Winter Layer+ extra insulation midsole

Each pair comes with a Winter Layer+ midsole in the box. It adds extra insulation in cold conditions. Place it underneath the existing insole when needed.

Especially useful:

  • in very cold conditions
  • when standing still for longer periods
  • if your feet get cold easily

Material: recycled polyester felt with a heat-reflective aluminium layer.

Shoe care

USAGE

Loosen the laces properly when taking the shoes off and putting them on. This reduces wear and helps extend the lifespan of your shoes.

Let the shoes air out well after use. Fully loosen the laces, remove the insole (and the extra mid-insole if you use it), open the shoe wide, and allow the shoes to dry naturally before the next use.

If the shoes get wet on the inside, remove the removable insole and open the shoe wide so air can circulate.

It’s also good to give your shoes “rest days” so they can dry and ventilate properly.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

It’s best to clean off loose dirt right after use with a damp cloth or sponge.

You can maintain the water-repellent treatment with a protective spray. The treatment protects against moisture and splashes, but the shoes are not waterproof by construction.

We do not recommend washing barefoot shoes in a washing machine, as machine washing can weaken the shoe’s glued parts.

Store the shoes upright at room temperature and protected from UV light.

The soft grip-pad material wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow slows wear naturally.

Size charts are model-specific, so check this chart even if you already own another Vaistoa model.

Hanki 3 has 3M Thinsulate™ insulation and a soft faux fur lining, and its insole has a cold-insulating foil layer. Every adult pair also comes with a separate extra mid-insole. Place it under the winter insole when you want more insulation and warmth, for example when your time outdoors involves a lot of standing still.
