Inner lining: Technical fabric (polyester)
Waterproof membrane construction in the lining
MEASUREMENTS:

Shaft height: 16.7 cm (size 40)

USAGE
Loosen the laces properly when taking the shoes off and putting them on. This reduces wear and helps extend the lifespan of your shoes.
Let the shoes air out well after use. Fully loosen the laces, remove the insole, open the shoe wide, and allow the shoes to dry naturally before the next use.
It’s also good to give your shoes “rest days” so they can dry and ventilate properly.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
It’s best to clean off loose dirt right after use with a damp cloth or sponge.
We do not recommend washing barefoot shoes in a washing machine. The membranes of waterproof models may become clogged, and machine washing can weaken the durability of the shoe’s glued parts.
Store the shoes upright at room temperature and protected from UV light.
Enjoy every step and every trail!

There are very few barriers to using barefoot shoes.
However, such barriers include functional or structural disorders of the feet or lower limbs. For example, hallux rigidus, or stiff big toe, where the big toe joint does not bend easily or at all upwards during the push-off phase of the step – which is a requirement for the natural roll of the step.
Similarly, any surgical operations where joints are fused – that is, their movement is restricted or completely prevented – pose challenges for the smooth use of barefoot shoes and the benefits they provide.
Loss of sensation in the soles of the feet (neuropathy) due to diabetes or nerve damage can also be considered a contraindication for using barefoot shoes, as you may injure your feet without noticing through the thin sole of the shoe.
If you have painful osteoarthritis or an active inflammatory phase of rheumatoid arthritis, it is advisable to reconsider using barefoot shoes until the condition improves.
If necessary, consult a physiotherapist or podiatrist who is knowledgeable about this matter. Remember to tell them that you want to transition to using barefoot shoes and ask how they can assist you in this project.

Whent for a walk in the mountains.
the only part of me that was dry were my feet.
They’re grate! I was afraid that they would be to narrow sine the measurements said 9,9cm wide and I measured my feet to be almost exactly that. But when I tried it on I discovered there’s a lot of room. It doesn’t feel tight at all! And I can adjust it how I want with the laces. I like that they’re waterproof and that they look like leather boots. I would always get blisters and pain from my old pair, so I never used them, but I actually want to use these. The sole is a tiny bit ticker than my other barefoot shoes and I don’t feel as much of the texture, but I don’t mind, can still feel what I’m walking on. These have been come a staple for me in the daily, especially when living in the countryside. Very versatile. I’m satisfied with this purchase!
Håller fötterna torra i våt terreng. Stor plass så fötterna kan sprida ut sig naturligt.
Bra grepp på sulan, inga problem å gå på glatta stenar eller grenar i skogen eller på fjället.
I am still in the transition period between my old hiking shoes an my new barefoot experience. Last week I hiked 40 km on a mix of roads, paths and terrain. So far I love it!
I love my shoes. They are so great to wear when I’m out with our three dogs. It was my partner who convinced me to buy a pair, and I chose green ones. He later bought the same kind, but in brown. They’re perfect for dog walks, but also for everyday use.
I used the Vaistoa Uoma 2 Barefoot Trekking Boots for the first time today while hunting for black grouse and capercaillie.
I was mighty impressed by how quiet I was able to walk, not only inside the forest but also on gravel roads. It felt almost like walking barefoot!
I was hunting for six hours mostly walking in moss and morass and the feet didn't feel heavy at all, as they do when wearing regular hunting boots.
and I can assure you that they are truly waterproof!
I genuinely love those hiking boots! I have spent years trying to find a good WATERPROOF boots for autumn. It is rare, it seems like barefoot shoe producers all live in a wonderful weather, and don't seem to understand what is going on in Estonia during autumn :))) it's muddy and wet! Anyway, Vaistoa from Finland knows how it is and they have made PERFECT hiking boots. not only because they are truly waterproof, but they sit very well, they are lightweight and look good! Finally I have what I needed!
These shoes didn’t make my feet or back ache. The feel of the ground underfoot helped me walk without tensing up, and the shoes provided good grip on the rocks. A great purchase and a worthwhile investment in my wellbeing.
I only managed to wear my new hiking boots once, because when I told my daughter about them, she immediately took them off with her to the Alps. We’ll have to see whether I get them back or if I’ll have to buy a new pair.
Best boots I’ve ever had!! I walk with my horses for hours every day, and my feet have been hurting more and more for years! At last I thought there was a risk I would have to stop walking, until I found Vaistoa!! Tried them yesterday and they didn’t hurt anywhere at all on my sore feet! Hardly noticed I had shoes on! So grateful, now I can continue my wonderful life with my horses! About to order one more pair!
It really is a pleasure to get out and about in nature, whatever the weather, when you’ve got these treasures underfoot😊. My legs don’t get sore at all when I’m rolling along on these – my body’s grateful, and so am I👍🏻. You’re doing a great job promoting natural movement and looking after your bodies🙏🏻. Keep up the good work, lovely people ❤️🙋♀️
Guaranteed quality, just like all Vaistoa shoes, which is why I no longer own shoes from any other brands. You don’t even need to break them in; you can just put them on straight away, whether you’re wearing them for an hour or eight. These are top notch too, and their waterproofing has already been tested in light rain. I’m absolutely confident that my toes will stay dry on my commute, even if I get caught in a heavier downpour! They feel sturdy and are so comfortable on my feet.
Comfortable shoes. I initially ordered size 44, but they felt too small even though I normally wear size 44. I swapped them for a size 45 and now they fit perfectly. The exchange went smoothly and the new shoes arrived within a couple of days.
I already have four pairs of hiking boots. So these are my fifth pair – which goes to show that I’ve really taken a liking to these boots 😀 Now I wanted some waterproof boots for my autumn walks.
Good value for money shoes for hiking, outdoor activities and hunting, provided you don’t need a long shaft. One downside is that they wear out quite quickly with heavy use; my previous pair lasted almost two summers.
I wore these to cross the Sarek National Park (100 kms of hiking), the wildest place in the EU. In my eyes this is the ultimate test. They worked beautifully walking through countless bogs, marshes and small streams (for deeper ones I switched to wet shoes of course), as well as for hopping across kilometers-long rock fields. They kept my feet dry and comfortable through it all and survived all this stress testing very well - hardly any wear on soles, shoes still watertight.
The only downside I can think of is that once you do flood them (as I stupidly did on the last day, my mistake) it takes a long time to dry them.
It was a real surprise that they didn’t chafe 😊 The walk went really well and the soles performed well even on the rocky terrain in Luosto and on really coarse gravel. The soles of my feet got a bit sore, as is to be expected when using the muscles, but I set off happily every day. My ankles feel a bit heavy, as I’m used to them being completely unsqueezed, and the crease from wearing them seems to be rubbing a bit awkwardly next to my big toe. Hopefully that’ll soften up quickly 😅 The sole holds up well. Moisture stayed out. The laces stayed PERFECTLY in place once tied. Amazing 😃 The difference compared to ordinary hiking boots is so significant in favour of these that it’s almost too good to be true 😅
The photo shows the scenery where I first put the shoes on and walked for three days straight.
I tested these boots for one month hiking in Scotland in often boggy and wet conditions. They were perfect: no blisters, no wet feet and decent ankle support.
However, as others have pointed out they do get hot and sweaty (I wear them with merino hiking socks) and it takes a long time to air the shoes out and get them dry again. So if you plan a hiking tour it is best to have a second pair to alternate as just drying them out overnight is not going to be enough (I always have a pair of tracking shoes with me as well and was glad I did).
Comfortable to wear and lovely shoes. The only major downside is that they aren’t waterproof at all, even though the product description claims they are. I went for a walk in a damp forest and my socks were soaked afterwards. If you’re looking for a basic pair of good hiking boots, go for these; but if you really need something waterproof, I’d recommend giving these a miss.
I went for a walk in Kevola, covering over 70 kilometres in barefoot hiking shoes, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. The shoes felt really secure on rocky terrain, steps and even in streams. It was a joy to walk in these lightweight shoes across varied terrain – in both sunshine and rain.
I only managed to get my socks wet once, and even that required a surprising plunge into muddy slush, ankle-deep. However, the wet shoe dried quickly overnight in the wilderness hut, and the journey continued the next day as if nothing had happened.
I couldn’t avoid getting blisters, but I reckon I would have had more of them with shoes fitted with traditional soles. My soles, however, were free of blisters and quite pleased with the massage they’d received.
I bought some new shoes for my trip to Norway, and the very first time I walked on wet grass, they got soaked through. The shoes weren’t waterproof.
My old vaistoan hiking boots were my go-to pair in Norway, but the new ones aren’t up to the same standard as the old ones.
I followed the instructions for measuring my feet, 3 times, and they're a size too big. I'll just use them anyway, slightly annoying though. I think that's how you guys expect them to sit, but definitely too much room in the front for me.
Otherwise they're beautiful and I love the feel.
I walked about 160 kilometres in these barefoot hiking shoes without getting a single blister. The shoes held up really well; even though part of the route took me over rocky terrain and stony fields, they showed hardly any signs of wear.
Another plus is the good ankle support. My feet stayed dry, and even though I had to cross streams where the water sometimes rose above my ankles, the shoes dried out quickly.
The only downside is the toe protection: the toe cap doesn’t protect the toes very well from impacts. Otherwise, I’m really happy with the shoes.
They’re good shoes, but the soles don’t last. After a year’s use, the sole tore at the heel and I had to order a new pair, even though they’re comfortable to walk in. The soles really should last at least a couple of years.
I bought these hiking boots with autumn rains and winter slush in mind. We’ve tested them with the dogs on walks on both tarmac and in the woods. They’re good boots. You can tighten them to fit properly so they don’t slip around on your feet. They’re warm, too. You’d be hard-pressed to find shoes that combine breathability and waterproofing in the same pair – they’d be too hot in the summer.
Hey there!
Thank you for your shoes and want to say that I love the idea of barefoot shoes and really like your brand and your designs. Sadly I did not have the best experience with this shoes.
I did only wear them once for some hours but the seam in the heel made me get blisters and was very uncomfortable. I really want to start wearing barefoot shoes and I trust your brand, so was wondering if this is a normal issue or if it's my foot/shape or size that is the problem.
I would like to see if there is any other model that would work for me if this one does not. I am happy to send them back if you want to have a look at them.
Best wishes from Norway!
Safira Olsen
Have used them for 7-8 months, but now for a little tougher task: A fishing tour in Swedish low alpine terrain.
Very good function. I used them with a pair of low gaiters to prevent debris entering the shoes, which otherwise often occur due to the low cut in the back of the boot.
A little muscle soreness in the low legs that I didn´t expect as quite used to barefoot shoes, but maybe natural due to quite a lot steep slopes.
You can test the shoes indoors for 90 days. Returns are free, so you can order risk-free and with peace of mind. If you're not completely satisfied, simply return them within 90 days for a full refund. No questions asked.

Even though the sole is thin, its material offers a good grip on slippery surfaces. The thin sole lets you feel the terrain beneath your feet, enhancing grip, balance, and safety.
Barefoot shoes have been around for years and are based on principles of natural movement and foot health. They are not just a trend; they are a step towards healthier footwear choices.
Our barefoot shoes are made from high-quality materials and designed for use in various environments. They are durable, but it’s important to remember that all shoes are consumable items. Barefoot shoes naturally have thinner soles compared to traditional thick-soled shoes. The durability of the soles can vary depending on the level of activity, the environment, and your walking style.
While athletes and outdoor enthusiasts use barefoot shoes for their features, they are suitable for anyone looking for comfort and the benefits of natural movement.
Many people with foot problems have found relief with barefoot shoes because they improve foot functionality. However, it’s wise to consult a healthcare professional before making a change if you are unsure.
Barefoot shoes do not provide any support because their purpose is to allow the foot muscles to work while moving. Supported shoes weaken the foot muscles because they don’t get to do their job.
