The winter version of our most popular shoe lets you enjoy the beauty of winter with dry and warm steps. In Vaistoa Uoma 4 Winter, a fully waterproof construction meets the exceptional comfort of a barefoot shoe.

The membrane keeps your feet dry even in slush and wet snow. 3M Thinsulate™ insulation and a soft faux fur lining bring warmth without any heavy feeling. The light, flexible construction follows your step, and the foot-shaped toe box lets your toes move freely.

Vaistoa Pitoa™ Winter Sole

Created for the Nordic winter.

The Vaistoa Pitoa™ winter sole is designed to enable a free and natural step throughout the northern winter. It combines the feel of a thin, flexible sole with grip pads.

Renewed grip pads for this winter. The grip pad structure has been developed further, with the aim of even better grip. The sole is still just as thin and flexible, so your step feels naturally comfortable in winter too.

The grip pads are made from a softer, high-friction rubber compound and are molded into the sole under the forefoot and heel.

The soft grip material wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow naturally slows down wear.

Winter Layer+ extra insulation midsole

Each pair comes with a Winter Layer+ midsole in the box. It adds extra insulation in cold conditions. Place it underneath the existing insole when needed.

Especially useful:

  • in very cold conditions
  • when standing still for longer periods
  • if your feet get cold easily

Material: recycled polyester felt with a heat-reflective aluminium layer.

Shoe care

USAGE

Loosen the laces properly when taking the shoes off and putting them on. This reduces wear and helps extend the lifespan of your shoes.

Let the shoes air out well after use. Fully loosen the laces, remove the insole (and the extra mid-insole if you use it), open the shoe wide, and allow the shoes to dry naturally before the next use.

If the shoes get wet on the inside, remove the removable insole and open the shoe wide so air can circulate.

It’s also good to give your shoes “rest days” so they can dry and ventilate properly.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

It’s best to clean off loose dirt right after use with a damp cloth or sponge.

We do not recommend washing barefoot shoes in a washing machine. The membranes of waterproof models may become clogged, and machine washing can weaken the shoe’s glued parts.

Store the shoes upright at room temperature and protected from UV light.

The soft grip-pad material wears slightly faster on dry, rough surfaces. In winter conditions, snow slows wear naturally.

Jag har i ca 25 år kört på meindl kängor och det är ett stort steg för mig att prova något annat. Men måste säga redan nu Vilken fantastisk sko detta verkar vara. Har bara hunnit ha dem kortare promenad och det är bara höst väder än men känns otroligt skön och är den var betydligt rejälare än vad jag tänkt mig. De är sköna att gå med. Jag har som längst gått en mil på blandat grusväg och asfalt. Också gått en del på stigar i skogen. Eftersom jag kommer närmare marken än med många andra skor rör jag mig smidigare i skogen. Jag köpte rekommenderad storlek. De är något smalare än jag hoppats. Hittills har jag gått med en tunn ullsocka. När jag lägger in den medföljande vintersulan så tror jag inte en tjockare ullsocka får plats. Jag får se hur fötterna håller värmen när det blir minusgrader. Genom att de är täta känns fötterna "lite instängda" efter att ha gått länge i plus 10 grader.

Sadly I'm quite disappointed. Having been wearing both Vivo and hobibear barefoot shoes for years my expectations were quite high. On a positive side the shoes look great, are waterproof and have a comfy wide toebox. And they are within a more affordable price range. The overall fit though is off. It's too loose in places where it should be snug, and too narrow in places it should offer more movement. This means the shoe isn't giving a lot of support and the foot is sliding around in strange areas. The ankle is also too low to provide any real support, and digs into the skin. The heel seem is also a bit painful. The sole doesn’t offer much grip on wet and slippy ground, especially in rocky terrain. The synthetic liner may feel warm at first, but it makes the feet feel clammy and cold after a short while. Overall these shoes feel like overpriced plastic. I would reccommend saving your money and invest in some proper leather barefoot shoes instead.

At first glance, the boot looks sturdy, and compared to previous models, there’s still plenty of room inside for your foot. Thanks to the extra insole, the cold no longer seeps through the sole into your foot so easily. The improved tread pattern on the sole looks and feels good. I believe the tread pattern will keep a man on his feet even in the most demanding conditions. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to test the boots yet as the weather is still mild and autumnal, but I have high hopes for their performance come winter😅

  1. Place a piece of paper on the floor with one edge against the wall.
  2. Put your heel against the wall and mark a line on the paper at the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure the length from the edge of the paper to the line you drew.
