Shoes should be cleaned of loose dirt immediately after use with a damp cloth or sponge.
If your feet sweat inside the shoes, it is important to let the shoes air out well after use. Fully loosen the laces, remove any removable insoles, open the shoe's mouth wide, and let the shoes dry thoroughly before the next use.
If the shoes get wet on the inside as well, remove the removable insoles and open the shoe's mouth wide to allow air to circulate inside the shoes as much as possible.
It is also beneficial to give the shoes "rest days" to allow them to dry and air out properly.

There are very few barriers to using barefoot shoes.
However, such barriers include functional or structural disorders of the feet or lower limbs. For example, hallux rigidus, or stiff big toe, where the big toe joint does not bend easily or at all upwards during the push-off phase of the step – which is a requirement for the natural roll of the step.
Similarly, any surgical operations where joints are fused – that is, their movement is restricted or completely prevented – pose challenges for the smooth use of barefoot shoes and the benefits they provide.
Loss of sensation in the soles of the feet (neuropathy) due to diabetes or nerve damage can also be considered a contraindication for using barefoot shoes, as you may injure your feet without noticing through the thin sole of the shoe.
If you have painful osteoarthritis or an active inflammatory phase of rheumatoid arthritis, it is advisable to reconsider using barefoot shoes until the condition improves.
If necessary, consult a physiotherapist or podiatrist who is knowledgeable about this matter. Remember to tell them that you want to transition to using barefoot shoes and ask how they can assist you in this project.

The shoes have been very comfortable and despite the long shank, my feet have not sweated more than normal! In use, I have also spotted more cool details, such as the golden holes where the laces are threaded!👌
The shoes were tested in Levitunturi. The grip was good both uphill and downhill, as well as on nature trails. My feet didn't get tired at all and there were no blisters or chafing.
I was looking for a pair of autumn boots, and to be honest, these weren't my first choice. Visually, I preferred other models, but since these were the only ones available in size 45, I decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they are.
This is my second pair of Vaistoa shoes, but my first time trying boots from this brand. My previous winter boots fell apart because I pronate outward on one foot, which used to make me lose my balance. I've been wearing these for almost two weeks now without any issues. Having used Vaistoa footwear for several months, I haven't had any problems with balance or foot sole pain. Really satisfied with them!
The shoe is very well made. The feeling is surprisingly reliable - the material that grips the ankle provides good support, the heel is well fitted, there is enough room for the toes, the sole is just right thick and robust - all in all - shoe may go a long way off the beaten track as well.
What remains open:
- how it will work in the summer when it's warm - especially as regards breathing - the permeability of the front finger part.
- how will the contact between the shoe and the sole at the bend of the big toe hold up, because the sole is not sewn to the shoe but is only glued.
All in all - quite happy atm.
The shoes are really comfy to wear, and they look nice. Sad to say they're the most slippery I've ever owned, and therefore did not meet my needs. Also, as showing on the photo, the outer sole separated from the shoe after only a month walking in mostly dry weather and ice. Hopefully just bad luck, but I had hopes they were better than this.
Really good and light on the feet. Withstands moisture when walking on wet grass. I replaced the insoles with felt insoles, which solved the problem of my feet and socks getting wet. The first barefoot shoes that go with dresses, jeans and outdoor trousers! There could be different shoes for men and women, because at least for me, this unisex fit is a little too wide.
The shoes are for general use. That means everywhere. So far this autumn, they have worked well everywhere. In the forest, in the yard and for cycling to work. The only downside is the moisture protection, which was originally quite poor. So it's worth protecting them with some kind of substance when they are new. Let's see what winter brings.
Very fast delivery. The shoes are light, comfortable and look nice. There is room for your feet to move, and they don't pinch anywhere. I took a slightly larger size so that I could wear wool socks. That way, they will probably be fine even in light frost.

I started wearing these right away. They arrived in the post yesterday, and I ordered them at the beginning of the week, so delivery was fast. These are the only shoes I'm willing to pay more for because I know they're good for my feet.
The box was damaged, and from the outer packaging (the plastic bag) I could see that something had driven over it – there were visible tire marks. Fortunately, the shoes themselves were not damaged. I tried them on, but they turned out to be more than a full size too large – far too long. In addition, I found the material too stiff and not breathable for me.
My boots didn't arrive in time, because of a mistake you made. I left England before the boots arrived. Please place my money back in my account. That would be the descent thing to do.
I went from thick based, supported maihars to these. Nice and light! Walking in the woods becomes much more meaningful when you know the footing. I feel like my balance has improved with these shoes too. They also hold up in rougher weather and can fit thicker socks in between in cooler weather.
The Vaistoa Hurmos were not my first choice for barefoot boots, but it so happened that my first choice was sold out. I ordered these on Wed night, Sat I had a mushroom trip planned, but I was a bit doubtful about getting the new maiharis on for the trip. It was a great pleasure when the slippers were available for pick up on Fri! I tried them on at home according to the instructions and they felt great on my feet. I also liked the design, although I was a bit worried about the colour at first - I wanted a darker brown. The camel is pretty classic after all. A mushroom trip convinced me that these were the right purchase - during the five-hour hike we walked over all sorts of terrain from sandy shrubs to another forest. The shoes held water and moisture, the step was stable, although a couple of times the wide toe did catch on a rock or root. A warm recommendation!
